We currently source earnings call transcripts from LSEG. We're also working on adding SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K) and will announce availability once launched.

A custom search is a user-defined query and filters applied to earnings call transcripts. It supports Boolean operators and wildcards (e.g., inflation AND (price* OR cost*)) and filters across companies (e.g. Energy companies), within transcript sections and speakers (e.g., CEO Q&A), and time windows (e.g., 2020-2025).

Each custom search includes three metrics defined at the earnings call level:

• Exposure: The total number of sentences that contain the query keywords.
• Risk: The number of sentences that contain both the query keywords and terms related to risk or uncertainty.
• Sentiment: The net tone of the discussion, calculated by subtracting the number of sentences containing keywords and negative terms from the number of sentences containing keywords and positive terms.

Curated Measures are pre-built measures maintained by NL Analytics and often based on published academic papers. They are ready to use out of the box and are designed to get a quick and rigorous overview of a topic. Go to Curated Measures.

The Keyword Tool helps you build a focused keyword list by suggesting semantically similar terms from earnings calls and letting you review relevance. The Merge Tool combines two searches at the sentence level using AND/OR/AND NOT to refine, expand, or exclude results. The Snippet Tool shows the matched sentences from a custom search and lets you filter sentences by sector, country, company, or call to read and validate context.

Free includes 10 searches when you sign up, then 3 new searches per month.

Access to view and export previously unlocked searches remains active. However, creating new searches is paused until your monthly refill or you upgrade your plan.

Time-series exports give you results aggregated over time (e.g., quarterly values). This provides the total or average Exposure, Risk, and Sentiment across all companies in your search filter, which is useful for tracking macro-level trends.

Firm panel exports give you the firm-level panel dataset suitable for econometric analysis. This includes the specific Exposure, Risk, and Sentiment scores for each individual earnings call (linked to the specific company and date), allowing for granular cross-sectional or regression analysis.

• Free: time-series export is available for a limited subset of Curated Measures.
• Standard & Research: time-series export is available for the full Curated Measures library, plus from your own measures.

Firm panel export is currently available for a small paper-linked subset of Curated Measures (e.g., measures tied to published academic work). Exports are for non-commercial use only. This set may evolve as new Curated Measures are added. For all other Curated Measures, you need to either use an export credit or be on a plan that includes firm panel exports (e.g. the Research plan).

It is a one-time unlock to download firm panel data for a specific custom search (i.e. a specific query + filters).

After you unlock it, you can re-export anytime. If you change the search, a new unlock is required.

Research includes firm panel exports for every search you create (no per-search unlock fees) and all Curated Measures. In addition, it comes with higher monthly search limits. If you need panel exports from many searches, Research is usually the best fit.

Yes - a credit card is required to start the trial (via Stripe). You will not be charged today. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.

Yes. You can manage your subscription at any time via your account settings. Upgrades take effect immediately with pro-rated charges. Downgrades and cancellations become effective at the end of your current billing period.
